About Us

Lloyd Specialist Developments is a family run business originally established by two brothers, Daniel and Nathan Lloyd, and their late father, Russell Lloyd. Expertly supported by a small team of specialists, they endeavor to help enthusiasts both maintain and enhance their pride and joy. No wish of yours is too radical, if it can be done it will be done!

Daniel Lloyd

A professional engineer with a solid background within the aerospace industry and a 1st class honours degree in Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering. This degree brings a level of knowledge and expertise in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, engineering materials and CAD along with a good understanding of complex mathematics.

His previous work involved personally carrying out major test and development projects for companies such as GE, Alstom and Rolls Royce. Daniel also has industry experience of turning, milling and component design.

Daniel carries out most of the vehicle wiring at Lloyd Specialist Developments, and has built hundreds of engine management wiring looms for a wide range of different applications.

Nathan Lloyd

A professional engineer with previous experience within the automotive and aerospace engineering industry. Nathan has industry experience of TIG-welding and machine building, including the building and repairing of pneumatic, hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems.

His ability to diagnose vehicle faults is second to none, there are countless times when a customer has come to us with a vehicle with a fault that has failed to be diagnosed by a number of mechanics. Nathan invariably ends up diagnosing the problem, mechanical or electrical. He started his automotive training by working on Land-Rovers at the age of seven!

Nathan also has extensive knowledge of various engine management systems and has calibrated hundreds of vehicles with standalone programmable engine management systems, including Canems, DTA, Emerald, Omex, MBE, etc.

Sally Lloyd

When not busy with her three young children, Sally works in the office with her husband Daniel. She ensures that the business finances are kept in order and keeps the rest of us in check!

Robbie Steele

An experienced mechanic with over 20 years in the automotive industry. He previously served an apprenticeship with Marcos Cars before they closed, and then worked for Marcos Heritage. Robbie is therefore very accomplished in the profession of car building and has valuable experience of working with fibreglass cars and V8 engines, which is very useful for our large TVR customer base.

Steve Cliff

An experienced mechanic with over 20 years in the automotive industry. He previously worked with a few local garages as a young lad, followed by over 15 years with Heritage Automotive as a fitter and panel beater. As well as having considerable ability with vehicle mechanics, Steve can also carry out a wide range of fabrication work such as welding, sheet metal-work, milling & turning. This makes him particularly adept at bare metal body-shell restoration work.

Simon Orchard

Has a BEng in Motorsport Engineering and experience working at Bath University in R&D at the cutting edge of engine technology, coupled with nearly 2 decades of wrenching experience there are few systems Simon cannot reverse engineer or squeeze more performance out of.
